Bio

  I am currently a Ph.D. student at Purdue University, Department of Computer Science, working with Prof. Brian Bullins on (distributed) optimization theory for machine learning. I've also worked with Prof. Jean Honorio on statistical learning theory for deep learning.
  In May 2024, I earned my M.S. in Statistics along the way of my CS Ph.D. study. Previously in 2020, I received my bachelor's degree in computer science from Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Qian Xuesen Honors College. I spent 6 wonderful years at XJTU after direct admission from middle school to the Special Class for the Gifted Young / Honors Youth Program in 2014.
  In the summer of 2024, I'm part of the Ads team at TikTok, San Jose, as a machine learning engineer intern working on recommendation ranking models. From 2017 to 2020, I was a research assistant working on deep reinforcement learning at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, XJTU, advised by Prof. Xuguang Lan, Prof. Nanning Zheng and Dr. Hanbo Zhang. I am also interested in and have research experience in robotics, computer vision, and machine learning in general.
  In the summer of 2018, I visited National Unversity of Singapore (NUS) for the Summer Workshop in the School of Computing as a research intern. In the Fall semester of 2018, I visited University of California, Berkeley as an exchange student.
